SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, statistics were updated for covid-19 in Utah by the state department of health.
Since statistics have been kept, there have been 52,403 recorded cases of covid-19. This is an increase of 296 and a net increase of 243 in the past 24 hours.
664,521 Utahns have been tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 4,666 in the past 24 hours.
This again caused the positive test percentage to decrease to 7.88 percent. Monday, this was at 7.89 percent.
The 24-hour positive test percentage increased to 6.34 percent. Monday, this was at 5.81 percent.
There have been 44,388 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 398 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 132 recoveries in the same span.
The current recovery percentage in Utah is 84.705 percent.
The gap between all-time cases in Utah and recoveries has shrunk to 8,015. This is a net decrease of 102 in the past 24 hours.
There are 7,656 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is a net decrease of 55 in the past 24 hours. The current active case percentage in Utah is 14.609 percent.
The differential between recoveries and active cases increased to 36,732. This is a net increase of 453 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 3,110 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 17 in the past 24 hours.
Current hospitalizations increased by one in the past 24 hours, to 126. This increased the current covid-19 hospitalization percentage to 4.05 percent. Monday, this was at 4.04 percent. There are 44 current covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU, a net decrease of one in the past 24 hours.
This decreased the current ICU covid-19 hospitalization percentage to 34.92 percent. Monday, this was at 36 percent.
Presently, 57 percent of ICU is currently occupied.
There have been two new deaths in Utah attributed to covid-19. This increases the death total to 409. The current death percentage in Utah dropped to 0.7804 percent Tuesday. Monday, this was at 0.781 percent.
Wasatch County saw one new case of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, increasing the net total to 640. The hospitalizations (25) and deaths (7) attributed to covid-19 remained unchanged in Wasatch County in the past 24 hours.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Utah occurred August 28.
