SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, covid-19 results for Utah were updated by the state department of health.

There have been 87,819 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah per Tuesday’s report. This is an increase of 987 in the past 24 hours.

931,732 Utahns have been tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 8,801 in the past 24 hours.

64,583 recoveries from covid-19 have occurred in Utah. This is an increase of 622 in the past 24 hours.

The current recovery percentage in Utah is 73.54 percent.

There are 22,714 active cases of covid-19 in Utah per Tuesday’s report. This is an increase of 365 in the past 24 hours. For the 11th time in the past 12 days, Utah has experienced more recoveries than active cases. There are presently 41,869 more recoveries than active cases in Utah.

The current active case percentage in Utah is 25.9 percent.

There have been 4,383 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah. Of these, 249 are currently hospitalized or 4.62 percent.

Of the 249, 90 are in ICU or 36.1 percent. ICU is presently 65.1 percent occupied in Utah.

The death total for the state remains at 522, dropping the death percentage to 0.595 percent.

Wasatch County experienced 15 new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 927 cases.

The hospitalizations (37) and deaths (8) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County was reported October 3.

In news shared by Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, Wasatch County is among six counties with levels of high transmission. This means masks are required. This means social gatherings of 10 or fewer are permitted.

This will be reevaluated on a weekly basis.
