SALT LAKE CITY-While Utah state officials admitted to “cautious optimism” concerning covid-19 data in the Beehive State, the latest numbers were released by the state department of health.
There have been 39,696 cases of covid-19 recorded in Utah since statistics began being kept. This represents an increase of 502 cases in the past 24 hours. This is a net increase of 163 cases as well.
Furthermore, there have been 524,367 total people tested for the virus in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 6,176 in the past 24 hours.
The current positive test percentage is 7.57 percent, a slight increase from Wednesday’s 7.56 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage slumped to 8.12 percent Thursday. This was at 8.77 percent Wednesday.
There have presently been 27,261 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 618 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 120 recoveries in the same span.
This increased the recovery percentage to 68.67 percent. Wednesday, this was at 67.97 percent.
There are 12,136 active cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State per Thursday’s totals. This is a decrease of 124 in the past 24 hours. This drops the covid-19 active case percentage to 30.3 percent.
There are presently 15,125 more recovered cases than active cases in Utah. This is a net increase of 742 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 2,346 hospitalizations for covid-19 in the Beehive State since statistics began being kept. This is a net increase of 22 in the past 24 hours.
There are presently 217 current hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah, a net increase of 9 in the past 24 hours. This raises the current hospitalization percentage to 9.24 percent.
The ICU cases for covid-19 dropped by one in the past 24 hours to 87. Presently, 40.09 percent of all current covid-19 hospitalizations are in ICU. 69.8 percent of ICU is full in the Beehive State.
There have been 300 deaths attributed to covid-19 in the Beehive State, which is a net increase of 8. This increased the death rate to 0.755 percent. Wednesday, the death rate percentage is at 0.745 percent.
In Wasatch County, there is one new recorded case of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 523. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
