AUCKLAND, New Zealand-Friday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released renderings for two Pacific Area temples: the Neiafu Tonga Temple and the Pago Pago American Samoa Temple.
The Neiafu Tonga Temple, which was announced April 2019 by Church President Russell M. Nelson, will be built on Tu’I Road at the site of the Church-owned Saineha High School.
Plans are calling for a single-story temple consisting of 17,000 square feet.
Housing for the temple president and missionaries, as well as for a distribution center, will also be constructed on the site.
No school buildings will be impacted by the construction of the new temple.
This will be the second temple in Tonga upon its completion.

Plans call for a single story temple of nearly 17,000 square feet. This temple construction will also include housing for the temple president and missionaries.
There will also be a distribution center on the property.
Upon completion, this will be the first temple in American Samoa.
