The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Donates $10-K To Flint, Mich.

FLINT, Mich.-In a news release dating back to Thursday, a donation from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints saw $10,000 sent to Flint, Mich. to support a program delivering bottled water to the home-bound.

This program was reestablished by Mayor Sheldon Neeley March 30.

Flint, Michigan Stake President Marcelino Sanchez and 5th Ward Bishop Robert Leon presented this donation to Neeley via video conference on April 29.

Neeley confirmed the city is grateful for this donation from the Salt Lake City-based faith.

The Church’s history in Flint dates back to 1935 and has been a community partner since that time, per the press release.

The Church also conducts an annual clothing drive in the city of 95,943 residents.

Public health navigators will also deliver water filters, filter replacement cartridges and water testing kits to residents.
