Temple News For The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints revealed news on two temples of the Salt Lake City-based faith.

At Bangkok, Thailand, the Church is conducting an open house for its temple there from August 28-August 31 for guided tours for invited guests. From September 1-16, excluding Sundays, the general public is invited to attend.

Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles will dedicate the temple Sunday October 22.

Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles stated the Church is grateful that Thailand allows religious freedom.

Additionally, the Church announced its temple at Manhattan will close for extensive restoration in 2024.

The meetinghouse on the third floor of the temple will also be renovated.

Latter-day Saints in the Manhattan Temple District are now being encouraged to attend the temples at Philadelphia or Hartford, Conn.
