Sunday Stats For covid-19 In Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday, the latest statistics for covid-19 in Utah were released by the state’s department of health.

Since statistics began being kept for covid-19 in the Beehive State, there have been 37,973 recorded cases.

This is a net increase of 350 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 311 in the same span.

Since Friday, there has been a net decrease of 513 as reflected in the daily totals.

There have been 505, 351 recorded tests of covid-19 in the Beehive State since statistics began being kept. This is a net increase of 5,212 tests in the past 24 hours.

This caused the overall positive test percentage to drop to 7.51 percent Sunday. Saturday, this percentage checked in at 7.52 percent.

The 24-hour positive test percentage also dropped as Sunday, this figure checked in at 6.71 percent. Saturday, the number was at 10.89 percent.

There have now been 24,798 recoveries from coviod-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 408 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 267 in the same span.

This caused the overall recovery percentage to increase to 65.9 percent. As has been the case every day in July in Utah, the new recoveries (408) exceeded the new active cases (-58) as reflected in Sunday’s report.

There are presently 12, 902 active cases in Utah, causing the overall active case percentage to drop to 33.976 percent.

There are presently 12,076 more recovered cases than active cases in Utah. This is a net increase of 646 in the past 24 hours.

Since statistics have been kept, there have been 2,234 hospitalizations from covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is a net increase of 21 in the past 24 hours.

Current hospitalizations for covid-19 have increased to 210 in the past 24 hours, representing a net increase of 8 in that same span. This kept the current hospitalization percentage stable as it rose to 9.4 percent Sunday. Saturday, this number was at 9.12 percent.

The current covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU increased by four in the past 24 hours to 83. This caused a slight increase in the current covid-19 hospitalization percentage as it rose to 39.5 percent. Saturday, this number was at 39.1 percent. Currently, 62 percent of all ICU in Utah is being used as reflected in Sunday’s report.

The death rate remained at 274 deaths Sunday. This caused the overall death percentage to drop to 0.721 percent. Saturday, this number was at 0.728 percent.

Wasatch County saw three new recorded cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the net total to 515 cases. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) remain unchanged in the past 24 hours in Wasatch County.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
