SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, COVID-19 statistics were released for Utah.
There are presently 13,918 recorded cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 404 from Friday’s totals and a net increase of 79 cases from the previous day.
There are 8,114 recovered cases from COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 179 from Friday but a net decrease of 11 recoveries from the previous day.
This drops the recovery percentage in Utah to 58.03 percent.
There are 5,728 active cases of COVID-19 in Utah. This represents 40.96 percent of all cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State since statistics began being kept.
The 5,728 active cases are an increase of 225 cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 98 cases in the same span.
For the second time in three days, the new active cases (225) exceeded the new recovered cases (179) in Utah.
There have now been 262,782 total tests administered in Utah for COVID-19. This is an increase of 3,996 in the past 24 hours.
This increases the overall positive test percentage to 5.32 percent and in the past 24 hours, the positive test percentage increased to 10.1 percent.
There are presently 1,012 hospitalizations that have been recorded in Utah since statistics have been kept for the virus.
Of these, 132 are currently hospitalized, which is an increase of two from Friday’s totals. However, the current hospitalization percentage dropped to 13.04 percent from Friday’s 13.2 percent.
Wasatch County continues to make progress as there was only one new case recorded in the past 24 hours. This increases the net total of cases to 343 since statistics have been kept. There remain 15 hospitalizations and 2 deaths from COVID-19 in Wasatch County. The most recent death occurred May 31.
