Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson Plans To Lift Stay At Home Restrictions For Salt Lake County May 1

SALT LAKE COUNTY-Thursday, following Utah Governor Gary Herbert’s daily coronavirus task force briefing for the state of Utah, Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson stated she plans to lift stay-at-home restrictions for the county May 1.

This comes after Herbert extended his “stay safe, stay home” directive, initially launched March 27, through the end of April.

Wilson said, earlier this week, that she considered extending these restrictions through Memorial Day but data she looked at Thursday revealed promising signs, she confirmed.

However, she also warned Salt Lake County residents not to let their guard down, lest COVID-19’s recurrence should damage things once again.

Wilson said that when restrictions are ultimately lifted for Salt Lake County, it would be in phases to ensure that the spread of coronavirus is stifled.
