WINDOW ROCK, Ariz.-Per reports from the Navajo Department of Health and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center, the Navajo Nation has reached 174 positive tests for COVID-19 through Wednesday, including seven deaths.
This includes six positive tests for tribal members residing in San Juan County, Utah.
The Navajo Nation has also implemented a daily curfew from 8:00 pm-5:00 am in hopes of slowing the spread of the virus.
These standards do not apply to essential employees who are going to and from work as long as they have official identification and/or a letter of designation from their essential business employer on an official letterhead.
This letterhead must contain contact information to verify its authenticity.
