Mysterious Substance Potentially Sickens Midway Dogs

MIDWAY, Utah-Per a report from KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, a mysterious substance may have sickened three dogs in Midway.

County authorities and federal officials are presently searching for answers concerning this substance.

Robin and Andrew Baker of Midway believe a dark, mysterious substance appeared at the end of their driveway December 1.

They did not think anything of it until they started piecing together the possible causes of their three dogs becoming ill.

One of them, Lola, began frothing at the mouth intermittently and within 10 minutes, the Bakers reported she began to suffer from a massive seizure.

The other dogs, Ozzy, who suffered from heavy breathing, and Misty, who reportedly suffered from a stroke, began to heal from their symptoms relatively quickly.

Robin Baker then contacted Wasatch County Emergency Services Thursday about a potentially toxic substance that was found at the end of the driveway.

She commended the officials at Wasatch County Emergency Services for their diligence in combating the illnesses, saying they had visited at least three times during the past week.

These officials have been working with the Wasatch County Health Department in hopes of discovering the identity of this mysterious substance.

A health department spokesman confirmed that motor oil has been ruled out as a possible cause.

The results are expected early during the upcoming week.

Robin Baker advises Wasatch County residents not to dump toxins as she believes this could be a cause of the illnesses.
