(Salt Lake City, UT) — A judge has blocked Utah’s proposed constitutional Amendment D from going on or being valid for the upcoming November ballot. Judge Dianna Gibson released her ruling yesterday after a hearing was held this week to consider the question. She has granted a preliminary injunction supporting the argument of plaintiffs that the wording misrepresents the subject matter of the proposed amendment. The judge says lawmakers also failed to properly publish the text in state newspapers. Attorneys for the plaintiffs celebrated it as “a win for Utah’s citizens.”
