Journalists, Government Leaders, and Others Tour The Brasília Temple Wednesday

BRASILIA, Brazil-Wednesday, 450 journalists, government leaders, and other dignitaries walked through the Brasília Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the first day of its open house.

They were welcomed by Elder Ulisses Soares of the Church’s Quorum of Twelve Apostles and his wife, Rosana, and Elder Joni L. Koch of the Seventy, as well as other local Church leaders.

Elder Soares received Brasília governor Ibaneis Rocha, who was accompanied by many of his cabinet secretaries.

Other dignitaries included Bahia governor Jerônimo Rodrigues, Supreme Court Justice Humberto Martins, National Congressman Jose Rocha and Secretary of the Ministry of Communication, Maximiliano Martinhão.

Media representatives from television, radio, print and social media channels, also toured the temple and interviewed various Church leaders.

The invited guest portion of the open house continues through August 11. Three weeks of public open house tours will conclude September 2.
