Heber Valley Temple Groundbreaking Occurs Saturday

HEBER CITY, Utah-Saturday, ground was broken for the Heber Valley Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to be located at 1400 E. Center in Heber City.

Church President Russell M. Nelson presided at the event. President Nelson stated he rejoiced with the Saints of the Heber Valley who have long awaited this moment.

President Nelson honored George Holmes Sr., the original owner of the land on which the temple will be constructed.

Holmes was a World War II veteran and his parents were immigrants to the United States.

The temple will occupy a 17.9-acre site and will be a three-story building of approximately 80,000 square feet.

Upon completion, the Heber Valley Temple will be the 29th in Utah.
