Heber City Council Candidate Charged With Child Abuse

(Heber City, UT) — A woman running for a seat on the Heber City Council is accused of abusing a child. Jami Smith Hewlett is facing charges of child abuse after the young victim claimed she subjected them to physical and verbal assault, including an incident that landed them in the ER. Hewlett is already facing other charges including trespassing after she was kicked out of Lagoon Amusement Park back in May then changed clothes and returned. As to the latest charge, Hewlett says she strongly denies any wrongdoing.
