(Salt Lake City, UT) — Unfavorable weather conditions for cattle ranching this year has caused a spike in Utah’s beef prices. According to ranchers, shoppers should expect the price hike to continue for at least the rest of the year, saying a harsh winter and drought are to blame. The harsh conditions resulted in ranchers across the state losing considerable amounts of their livestock, which drives up meat prices. Farm Bureau officials say consumers could potentially see higher beef prices at the grocery store for another year or two.
