Friday Stats Updated For COVID-19

SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, stats were updated for covid-19 in the Beehive State by the Utah Department of Health.

As was explained Thursday, when the dynamics of coronavirus.utah.gov were altered, the new daily test totals reflect the implementation of antigen tests with the authorization of state epidemiologist Dr. Angela C. Dunn.

Based on Friday’s numbers, since statistics have been kept, there have now been 32,572 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah.

This is an increase of 727 cases in the past 24 hours. However, this is also a -227 decrease in the same span.

For the past 7 days, Utah has seen a net decrease of 553 cases.

There are presently 19,862 recoveries from covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is a net increase of 648 recoveries in the past 24 hours, representing a new state record. This also represents a net increase of 27 recoveries in the same span.

Currently, 60.97 percent of covid-19 cases in Utah are recovered.

Presently, there are 12,476 active cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 78 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 243 in the same span. The current active case percentage of covid-19 in Utah dropped to 38.3 percent.

There are presently 7,386 more recovered cases of covid-19 in Utah than active cases. This is a net increase of 570 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 1,984 hospitalizations recorded for covid-19 in the Beehive State since statistics began being kept.

This is a net increase of 28 although current hospitalizations dropped to 198, a -1 decrease in the past 24 hours.

This dropped the current hospitalization percentage for covid-19 to 9.97 percent. The ICU current hospitalization percentage increased to 48.4 percent as there are seven new covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU, raising Friday’s total to 96.

There is one new death attributed to covid-19 in Utah in the past 24 hours. The current death total in Utah for covid-19 is 235. The death rate dropped to 0.721 percent in Utah, a rate which continues to lead the nation.

Wasatch County saw four new recorded cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the net total to 476 total cases. The hospitalizations dropped by one in the same span, to 20. The death count remains four in Wasatch County for covid-19. The most recent death attributed to the virus in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
