SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, statistics for covid-19 in Utah were updated by the state department of health.

There were 656 new recorded cases of covid-19, the most since late July, in Utah Friday. This raises the recorded total to 56,675. This is a net increase of 310 in the past 24 hours.

707,807 Utahns have now been tested for covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 4,041 in the past 24 hours.

This increased the positive test percentage to 8 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage increased to 16.2 percent Friday. Thursday, this was at 6.62 percent.

There have been 48,021 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 476 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

However, because of the 656 new cases, the recovery percentage slumped to 84.73 percent from Thursday’s 84.87 percent.

The gap between all-time cases and recoveries grew to 8,654 Friday. This is an increase of 180 in the past 24 hours.

There are currently 8,223 active cases in Utah, an increase of 179 in the past 24 hours. The active case percentage in Utah is currently 14.509 percent.

The differential between recoveries and active cases increased to 39,798 Friday. This is an increase of 297 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 3,288 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah since statistics began being kept. This is an increase of 15 in the past 24 hours.

There are 123 current hospitalizations in Utah for covid-19. This is an increase of five in the past 24 hours. This increased the current hospitalization percentage to 3.74 percent. Thursday, this was at 3.6 percent.

The ICU cases who are currently hospitalized remain at 48. This dropped the ICU covid-19 hospitalization percentage to 39 percent. Thursday, this was at 40.6 percent.

67 percent of ICU is currently occupied in Utah.

There are currently 431 deaths in Utah attributed to covid-19. This is a net increase of one in the past 24 hours.

Wasatch County saw two new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, increasing the net total to 662. The hospitalizations attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County increased by two in the past 24 hours to 30.

The deaths attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remained unchanged in the past 24 hours, staying at 7.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred August 28.
