SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, covid-19 statistics were updated for the Beehive State by the state department of health.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 43,375 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 460 cases in the past hours and a net decrease of 127 cases in the same span.
There have been 559,100 people tested for covid-19 in Utah. This represents an increase of 3,709 cases in the past 24 hours.
Currently, 32,371 Utahns who have had covid-19 are recovered from the virus. This is an increase of 752 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 44 recoveries in the same span.
Presently, 74.63 percent of all covid-19 cases in Utah are recovered.
There are 10,669 active cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State, currently. This is a net decrease of 297 in the past 24 hours.
The current active case percentage in Utah is 24.59 percent.
There are 21,702 more recoveries than active cases in Utah. This differential increased by 1,049 in the past 24 hours. For the first time in state history, the differential has doubled the active case total.
There have been 2,578 hospitalizations from covid-19 in Utah since statistics began being kept. This is an increase of 24 in the past 24 hours.
There are presently 202 current hospitalizations for covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 12 in the past 24 hours. This caused the current hospitalization percentage to increase to 7.83 percent. Thursday, this was at 7.43 percent.
The ICU current hospitalization percentage decreased to 40.09 percent. Thursday, this was at 42.1 percent. The ICU current hospitalizations for covid-19 increased by one in the past 24 hours to 81.
The current death rate is 0.772 percent, which is up from Thursday’s 0.768 percent as there were five new deaths in Utah attributed to covid-19. Each of them were in long-term healthcare facilities and had underlying health conditions.
In Wasatch County, there are seven new recorded cases of covid-19 Friday, increasing the net case total to 552.
The hospitalizations increased by one in the past 24 hours to 21.
The death total remained at 4 in the past 24 hours. The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
