Church Leaders Raise Hunger Awareness In Virtual Walks

SALT LAKE CITY-Sister Sharon Eubank of the Relief Society General Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently joined with other members of the Relief Society general presidency and the Primary general presidency in a virtual walk to raise awareness for the hungry.

Sister Eubank was joined by Sister Reyna I. Aburto of the Relief Society General Presidency, Sister Joy D. Jones, the Primary general president and Sister Lisa L. Harkness of the  Primary General Presidency.

Church World Service conducted a CROP Hunger Walk in St. George, Utah November 14.

Because of covid-19 restrictions, the sisters were unable to attend so they conducted their own virtual walks at this time.

These sisters are encouraging those who wish to participate to visit justserve.org to assist in projects benefiting food banks and other organizations fighting hunger.

CWS has partnered with Latter-day Saint Charities, the charitable arm of the Church, to assist refugees and others in need since 2016.

The CROP Project dates back to 1947 when farmers were asked to donate food and seed crops to hungry neighbors in post-World War II Europe and Asia.
