UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST, Utah-Per information released by the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache Forest Tuesday, there is a spike in Christmas tree permits available on the Heber-Kamas District.
This year, there will be 4,500 permits as opposed to the usual 2,000 permits on this land.
These permits are available at both the Heber City (2460 S. U.S. 40) and Kamas (50 E. Center) Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest offices.
The permits go on sale November 4 and at these local vendors 7 days a week from 6:00 am-9:00 pm: Silver Eagle, 1590 S. U.S. 40, Heber City and Mirror Lake Service, 2 N. Main, Kamas.
Permits are $15, one per person (16 years and older). These trees consist of subalpine fir, white fir and lodgepole pine trees. Trees that are 20 feet tall or shorter may be cut and removed.
Cutting is only allowed on the Heber-Kamas Ranger District of the forest with these permits.
