Authorities Identify Woman Killed In Head-on Crash North At Monticello

MONTICELLO, Utah-The woman who died in a head-on crash north of Monticello Sunday evening was identified per a Tuesday evening report.

The woman was 26-year-old Zuhra Samadi of Salt Lake City. She was driving northbound in a Chevrolet Tahoe behind a Ford F-350 hauling a 25-foot trailer per a report from the Utah Highway Patrol.

Samadi tried to pass the F-350 in a no-passing zone and collided with a Dodge Ram headed southbound on U.S. Highway 191. This propelled Samadi back into the northbound lane and she was killed instantly as her vehicle fell onto the shoulder of the road.

The F-350 also veered off the road. Samadi was killed instantly and a 2-year-old passenger in the Tahoe suffered non life-threatening injuries.

A driver and passenger in the Ram were transported to a local hospital with injuries. All five occupants of the F-350 were treated for injuries and released at the scene.
