HEBER CITY, Utah-Per information released Tuesday, Wasatch County Health Department health education and media relations coordinator Trudy Brereton confirmed 78.1 percent of covid-19 cases in Wasatch County are recovered (668-855).
While this is lower than previous weeks, it is significantly higher than the Utah average of 73.6 percent (58,534-79,439) per Tuesday’s report from the state Department of Health.
Wasatch County also has recorded 34 hospitalizations and 8 deaths.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred October 3.
Of greater importance, perhaps, in Utah is that the new recoveries reported Tuesday (569) greatly exceeded the new active cases (141). There are currently 20,417 active cases in Utah.
Presently, 25.7 percent of covid-19 cases in Utah are active. This is down from Monday’s 25.8 percent.
The 716 newly recorded cases in Utah represent a net -389 decrease in the past 24 hours.
There are 4,058 recorded hospitalizations in Utah. Of these, 208 are currently hospitalized, or 5.12 percent.
Of these, 79 are in ICU, or 37.9 percent. ICU is presently 67 percent occupied, representing a 5 percent net decrease in the past 24 hours.
There have been 488 deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah per Tuesday’s report. The current death percentage rate in Utah is 0.614 percent.
