2 Men Arrested For Burning Flags In Ogden

OGDEN, Utah-Per a Friday report, two men were arrested for burning flags in Ogden.

Social media posts and other investigative leads embroiled 18-year-old Hunter Hinds and 19-year-old Bryan Nava in damaging property charges per authorities in the city.

Hinds and Nava were booked into the Weber County Jail on several property crime-related charges.

Wednesday, the Ogden Police Department received eight reports concerning property damage the previous night.

The incidents, which happened between 2nd and 7th Streets in the neighborhoods west of Wall Avenue, entailed the burning of several American flags, a Thin Blue Line flag and a politically-themed flag.

Authorities also confirmed that other personal property was burned in these neighborhoods by Hinds and Nava.

At least two homeowners in these areas reported graffiti featuring a star shape and/or the word “boomin” emblazoned in blue paint.

The Ogden Police Department is asking for the public’s help with the case.

Those who have been victims of similar crimes between Tuesday and Wednesday and have not yet reported damages to authorities are asked to call the Weber Area Dispatch at 1-801-395-8221.
