Wasatch Track To Be Named After Coach Tolley

HEBER CITY, Per news released Thursday, the Wasatch High School track at Wright-Tree Stadium will be named after longtime Wasatch High School head track and field coach Verle Tolley.

This ceremony is slated for Tuesday April 23 at 3:15 pm at Wright-Tree Stadium, 760 S. 200 East, Heber City.

Tolley who passed away July 20, 2022, served as the Wasps’ head track and field coach, the head coach of the girls basketball program and the girls cross country head coach.

Tolley won eight state championships in coaching those sports, including six track and field state titles. As the girls basketball coach, he led the Wasps to a 44-game winning streak spanning the 2007-2009 seasons.

Tolley is also a member of the Wasatch High School Hall of Fame.
