Wasatch School District Director Dr. Ben Springer discussed the Wasatch Wellness program with station manager Dan Jessop as part of the awareness of Bullying Prevention Month. The mission of Wasatch Wellness is to provide a physical location with reliable resources for kids, faculty, staff, and community members beyond the school day. Listen to their interview from 94.5 The Peak Voices of the Valley radio show:
Wasatch County School District cares about every child from every family. Modern-day schools and communities present unique challenges to children beyond reading, writing, and arithmetic. So, we want to do our part in supporting our children, their families, and our community. In an effort to support all kids from all families, we have launched an initiative called “Wasatch Wellness.” This initiative has been made possible through the collaboration of our local PTA, Wasatch Mental Health, and the School Board. This initiative is dedicated to improving the wellness of our students, their families, and our community.
The Family Education Center is considered “the hub” of our Wasatch Wellness initiative. The Family Education Center is located at Timpanogos Middle School, 1415 East 980 South Heber City, UT 84032 open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm to 9pm. A variety of classes are now available for adults and students. See a full list of the courses available.
