The man, they myth, the legend Deputy Chief James Moore is officially retired from the police department.
Chief Moore spent nearly 22 years with the Heber city Police Department and has left a huge legacy, and some big shoes to fill.
Chief Moore was hired in 2000 as a patrol officer, spent time in major crimes as a detective, and held the ranks of patrol sergeant, detective sergeant, and lieutenant.
Chief Moore was promoted to Deputy Chief shortly before his retirement. We will certainly miss his wisdom, advice and work ethic.
Chief Moore is big into fitness and weightlifting. He has participated in the PANAM Games, and also went to Europe for a weightlifting competition. He was a big part in designing the current gym in the Public Safety Building.
The gym at the police department is named in his honor, with an indoor sign that reads, “JIM’S GYM WHERE YOU WORKOUT WITH MOORE!”
