Wasatch Mountain State Park is partnering with Paws for Life for the 3nd annual Wasatch Dog Trot. Meet at the Pine Creek Campground parking lot with your dog on a leash for the 2.3 mile loop. End at the Creek Side Yurt for prizes and hot chocolate. This event is free but donations are gladly accepted. Small breed- Science Diet or Purina Pro Plan. Friday Jan 3, 6:30 pm: Moonlight Snowshoe Hike Fundraiser with the Friends of Wasatch Mountain State Park.
Meet at the Park Visitor Center, The cost is $7 per person and snowshoes are available for rent at the Visitor Center for $6/pair. Pre-registration required at www.friendsofwasatch.org . There is a minimum age requirement of 8 years old for participation and all children must be accompanied by an adult. No pets are allowed on the hikes. There will be beginner, intermediate and advanced hikes and people of all skill levels are encouraged to participate. If you can walk, you can learn to snowshoe.

Saturday Jan 4, 8 am-5 pm: Audubon’s 120th Christmas Bird Count.
Meet at the Visitor Center for this is exciting opportunity for experienced birders, and those interested in learning about birding to participant in the nation’s longest standing citizen science bird project. Be prepared for the weather and bring a lunch or snacks, water, binoculars and your field guide to birds (if you have them). Please contact Kathy Donnell, at kathydonnell@utah.gov to RSVP.
Saturday Jan 11, 10 am-2 pm: 4th Annual Winter Festival.
Join us for the 4th annual Winter Festival where you can try out XC- skis, snowshoes and fat-tire bikes. Learn about all the fun winter activities in the area like snowmobiling, dog sledding and fat tire biking. Enjoy hot food and good company.
Call 435-654-1791 to make your reservations for equipment. Space is limited. $5/person or $20 for groups of 5 people and $2/person after that.

Saturday Feb 15, 10 am-1 pm: Track Me If You Can!
Join Wasatch Mountain State park for a morning of snow filled family fun. Learn how to identify animal tracks and other signs they leave behind. Your expert tracking skills will then be put to the test as we snowshoe through the park. Please meet at the Visitor Center and be prepared for cold weather.
