Desert Hills Summit Tournament

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Preston Michaels posted two RBI and the Park City Miners outlasted Wasatch 6-5 Friday at the Desert Hills Summit Tournament in the opening game of the season for both squads. Payton Swapp recorded a pair of hits in defeat for the Wasps.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Chett Wilson drove in four runs and the Wasatch Wasps bested Carbon 8-3 at the Desert Hills Summit Tournament Friday. This victory is the first in the career of new Wasps head coach McKay Jacobsen, a former BYU baseball star. Crew Erickson added 2 more RBI in victory for the Wasps, including a key insurance sacrifice fly in the 5th Inning for the Wasps.

Wasatch returns to action Saturday morning at 8:30 am at Desert Hills High School against fellow Class 5A foe Orem.

Dixie Flyer Fire Up

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Payge Armendariz drove in a pair of runs and earned the win in the circle as the Wasatch Wasps outlasted Clearfield 6-5 Friday morning to commence the Dixie Flyer Fire Up at Dixie High School.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Payge Armendariz stepped up with 3 RBI and the Wasatch Wasps bested Dixie 6-2 Friday at the Dixie Flyer Fire Up at Dixie High School. Andrea Sweat netted eight strikeouts in the win for the Wasps. Alivia Arp and Jamelle Mullins each had RBI in defeat for the Flyers.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Andrea Sweat posted 5 RBI and the Wasatch Wasps hammered Olympus 21-0 in four innings at the Dixie Flyer Fire Up at Dixie High School Friday. Payge Armendariz earned the win in the circle for the Wasps, netting seven strikeouts.

Wasatch returns to action at the Dixie Flyer Fire Up Saturday by playing Class 4A Sky View and Class 3A Morgan.

HEBER CITY, Utah-Tanner Wagstaff and Aiden Rowser each scored and the Wasatch Wasps doubled up Olympus 2-1 in non-region boys soccer play Friday. Gavin Cash scored in the loss for the Titans.
