5A Boys Basketball Second Round
WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah-Jake Williams had 11 points and the No. 4 Bonneville Lakers downed No. 20 Maple Mountain 49-43 Friday in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs. Bonneville next faces No. 5 Alta Monday at 9:30 am in the quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
SANDY, Utah-Jaxon Johnson and Collin Crow posted 14 points apiece and the No. 5 Alta Hawks hammered No. 21 Uintah 78-43 in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs Friday. Josh Spiers had 14 points in the loss for the Utes.
HOLLADAY, Utah-Dutch DowDell posted 29 points and the No. 1 Olympus Titans clobbered No. 16 Skyline 75-40 in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs Friday. Kolton Smith had 19 points in the loss for the Eagles. Olympus next draws No. 8 Salem Hills Monday at 11:10 am in the state quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
SALEM, Utah-Chase DeGraffenried netted 26 points as the No. 8 Salem Hills Skyhawks blasted No. 9 Stansbury 65-52 Friday in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs. Landen Giles led the Stallions in defeat with 26 points.
OREM, Utah-Nick Clark’s 15 points led the way and the No. 2 Orem Tigers pummeled No. 15 Spanish Fork 71-47 in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs Friday. Rhoman Eyere had 16 points for the Dons in the loss. Orem next draws No. 7 Woods Cross Monday at 12:50 pm in the state quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
WOODS CROSS, Utah-Jaxon Smith posted 24 points and the No. 7 Woods Cross Wildcats gashed No. 10 Box Elder 59-53 Friday in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs. Jackson McKee had 20 points in the loss for the Bees.
PAYSON, Utah-James Oldroyd amassed 20 points and 5 rebounds and the No. 14 Timpview Thunderbirds stymied No. 3 Payson 63-52 in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs Friday. Isaac Wolfe had 12 points in the loss for the Lions. Timpview next faces No. 6 Murray Monday at 2:30 pm in the state quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
MURRAY, Utah-Chudi Anosike netted 33 points and the No. 6 Murray Spartans bested No. 11 Springville 82-75 Friday in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs. Jake Nadauld had 50 points in the loss for the Red Devils.
