5A Second Round Girls Playoffs
SPRINGVILLE, Utah-Kayla Porray netted 19 points and No. 6 Springville downed No. 11 Timpanogos 57-42 in the second round of the 5A girls state playoffs Thursday. Kate Dickinson had 17 points for the Timberwolves in defeat.
The Red Devils next meet No. 3 Olympus Monday at 4:10 pm in the state quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
HOLLADAY, Utah-Mary Sheets netted 14 points and 6 assists as the No. 3 Olympus Titans waxed No. 14 East 57-47 in the second round of the 5A girls state playoffs Thursday. Mia Tarver had 14 points for the Leopards in the loss.
BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Tayler Harvey stepped up with 18 points and the No. 2 Bountiful Redhawks bested No. 15 Box Elder 62-39 Thursday in the second round of the 5A girls state playoffs. Kenadee Vaughn had 10 points in the loss for the Bees. Bountiful next meets cross-town rival, No. 10 Viewmont Monday at 5:50 pm in the state quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
SALT LAKE CITY-Kristina Gunnell posted 19 points and the No. 10 Viewmont Vikings upset No. 7 Skyline in the second round of the 5A girls state playoffs Thursday. Ayla Williams’ game-high 20 points led the Eagles in defeat.
SALT LAKE CITY-Seinitila Wolfgramm led the way with 13 points and the No. 4 Highland Rams gashed No. 13 Uintah 56-39 Thursday in the second round of the 5A girls state playofs. Jordan Woodford had 12 points in the loss for the Utes. Highland next faces No. 5 Timpview Monday at 9:10 pm Thursday in the state quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
PROVO, Utah-Hinemoa Aston posted 17 points and 5 rebounds as the No. 5 Timpview Thunderbirds pounded No. 21 Northridge 50-28 in the second round of the 5A girls state playoffs Thursday. Karlee Mayfield had 7 points for the Knights in defeat.
LEHI, Utah-Jamisyn Heaton stepped up with 29 points and the No. 1 Lehi Pioneers smacked No. 17 Woods Cross 47-30 Thursday in the second round of the 5A girls state playoffs. Georgia Hatton had 9 points in the loss for the Wildcats. Lehi next faces No. 9 Jordan Monday at 7:30 pm in the state quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah-Lea Afu posted 20 points and the No. 9 Jordan Beetdiggers edged No. 8 Cedar Valley 56-55 in the second round of the 5A girls state playoffs Thursday. Olivia Kaaihue’s 21 points and 6 rebounds led the Aviators in defeat.
