Region 9

SPANISH FORK, Utah-The Spanish Fork Dons used a 14-6 run in the 3rd Quarter and a 7-0 run to close out the 4th Quarter to edge the Wasatch Wasps 65-60 in Region 9 boys basketball play Tuesday at La Hacienda.

Tucker Englebright had 22 points for the Wasps to lead the way in defeat.

James Ballstaedt’s squad returns to action Friday to host the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles at The Nest.

Wasatch is presently 7-11 and 2-2 in Region 9 play. This win for the Dons improves them to 10-6 and 3-1 in Region 9 play.

Girls Basketball

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Ashley Garner posted 11 points and the Wasatch Wasps humbled Spanish Fork 39-23 Tuesday in Region 9 girls basketball play at La Hacienda. Haydn McMillan and Staci Lomenick had 6 points apiece in the loss for the Dons.
