Illustrated Old Testament Stories Are Completely Refreshed By the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

SALT LAKE CITY-In news released Tuesday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has refreshed the illustration and writing of “Old Testament Stories.”

This is in preparation of the Salt Lake City-based faith teaching the Old Testament during this upcoming year’s Come Follow Me curriculum.

This confirms the completion of a three-year project under the direction of the Church’s Scriptures Committee and features more than 350 new illustrations depicting 50 Old Testament stories.

Nine stories have been added that were not in the previous version. These stories tell of Old Testament heroes and heroines such as Gideon, Hagar, Rahab and Deborah among others.

All of these stories have been rewritten and translated into 63 languages.

Animated videos and audio narrations have also been developed in 10 languages for each story.

Elder Walter F. Gonzalez of the Scriptures Committee said this new volume will help people learn of the Savior’s love for all mankind.

This effort has also been overseen by both the previous and current General Primary Presidency of the Church.
