INDIANAPOLIS-In news released Thursday, 93 percent of student-athletes at the University of Utah and Utah State University graduated within six years of enrolling per the latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate.

The Utes had the best GSR in the Pac-12 in six sports: baseball, men’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, men’s skiing, men’s tennis, gymnastics, women’s skiing, women’s tennis and volleyball.
Since the GSR’s introduction in 2005, the UofU’s gymnastics and women’s tennis teams have had perfect scores for all 17 years.
Furthermore, the Utes’ men’s tennis program has earned an 100 percent score for the 12th consecutive year.
Comparable streaks are underway for women’s volleyball (7 consecutive years) and men’s basketball (5 consecutive years).
The university’s federal graduation rate for 2021 is 70 percent. This is the second highest score in department history.
At Utah State, the Aggies’ 93 percent graduation rate leads the Mountain West Conference.

The Aggies’ men’s tennis program has had a perfect GSR for 14 consecutive years. Utah State’s golf and soccer programs have now had a perfect GSR for 14 consecutive years.
The reason for the difference between the NCAA GSR and federal graduation rate is that the former makes adjustments for circumstances such as transfers and missionary service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
