LOGAN, Utah-Monday, Utah State senior forward Justin Bean was named the Mountain West Player of the Week Award recipient for the second consecutive week.

By virtue of his contributions to the Aggies’ wins over Richmond and later Pennsylvania, New Mexico State and Oklahoma, Bean was also named as the Myrtle Beach Tournament MVP as he helped Utah State to the tournament title Sunday.

Bean averaged 24.7 points and 14.3 rebounds in the Aggies’ four wins this past week and shot 69 percent from the field (29-42) and 62.5 percent (5-8) behind the arc.

For the season, Bean is averaging 24 points and 13.8 rebounds per game.

Bean and his Aggies teammates return to action Saturday by hosting the Texas-Arlington Mavericks at the Spectrum.
