CEDAR CITY, Utah-Monday, Southern Utah University director of athletics Debbie Corum announced the university and head football coach Demario Warren have mutually agreed to part ways.

A nationwide search for Warren’s replacement is to commence immediately, Corum confirmed.

Warren coached the Thunderbirds for six seasons, posting a record of 21-42 (.333). In 2017, Warren led SUU to a 9-3 record and a berth in the NCAA FCS playoffs.

Warren’s ouster correlates with the T-Birds’ departure from the Big Sky Conference.

In July 2022, SUU joins the Western Athletic Conference, giving them a naturally built-in conference rivalry with southern Utah neighbor Dixie State University.
