POCATELLO, Idaho-Sunday November 7, President M. Russell Ballard, the acting president of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dedicated the Pocatello Idaho Temple in three sessions.
Pres. Ballard was joined by Elder Neil L. Andersen of The Quorum of Twelve Apostles and his wife, Kathy, Elder S. Gifford Nielsen, the president of the North America Central Area and Elder Gary B. Sabin, the assistant executive director of the Temple Department, and his wife, Valerie.
Elder Andersen has connections to Pocatello as he attended schools in the city and lived in nearby Tyhee, Idaho, for much of his youth.
The Pocatello Temple will subsequently open to Phase 3 of the Church’s reopening protocol for temples.
The Pocatello Temple will serve 20 stakes headquartered in southeastern Idaho.
