HEBER CITY, Utah-Monday, in remarks made to media at the Heber Valley Airport, former NBA superstar power forward Karl Malone announced a lifetime partnership with the Utah Food Bank to gather food donations at his auto dealerships.

Malone, who starred for the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers, has a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in downtown Heber City.

He had most recently been in Heber City this past August for the Wasatch County Fair.

Malone, a native Louisianan, stated he plans to stay in Utah indefinitely during his Monday remarks.

His expectation is that, by Friday, he can kickstart efforts in other states where his company does business.

He commenced his remarks by reintroducing himself, as well as his wife, Kay, who accompanied him to this press conference.

Malone concluded his remarks by saying “This is Karl Malone, and I approve of this message.”
