SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, covid-19 data was updated for the state of Utah by the state department of health.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 53,326 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 504 cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 85 cases in the same span.
673,659 Utahns have been tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 5,234 Utahns in the past 24 hours.
This increased the positive test percentage to 7.91 percent. Wednesday, this was at 7.902 percent.
The 24-hour positive test percentage dropped to 10.73 percent. Thursday, this was at 9.62 percent.
44,995 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah have occurred per Thursday’s report. This is an increase of 337 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 15 in the same span.
However, this caused the recovery percentage to drop to 84.37 percent from Wednesday’s 84.54 percent.
The gap between all-time cases and recovered cases in Utah increased to 8,131. This is a net increase of 167 in the past 24 hours.
There are now 7,917 active cases in Utah, representing a net increase of 163 in the past 24 hours. This caused the active case percentage to increase to 14.84 percent.

There are 43 current covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU in Utah. This is a decrease of 4 in the past 24 hours, causing the ICU covid-19 percentage to drop to 35.83 percent. Wednesday, this was at 36.7 percent. ICU is currently 59.8 percent occupied in Utah.
There are four new deaths in Utah attributed to covid-19 as the percentage remained at 0.77 percent for the second consecutive day. The current death total in Utah is 414 deaths.
Wasatch County saw two new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 648. There is one new hospitalization in Wasatch County in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 27 hospitalizations.
The deaths remained unchanged in Wasatch County in the past 24 hours as the total stayed at 7.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred August 28.
