Friday Stats for covid-19 In Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, statistics were updated for covid-19 in the Beehive State by the state department of health.

Since statistics began being kept, there have been 48,445 recorded cases of covid-19. This is an increase of 463 cases in the past 24 hours, representing a net increase of two in the same span.

There have been 619,937 Utahns tested for covid-19 since statistics began being kept. This is an increase of 3,593 Utahns in the past 24 hours.

The positive test percentage increased to 7.82 percent. Thursday, this number was at 7.79 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage increased to 12.8 percent Friday. Thursday, this figure was at 8.47 percent.

There have been 39,867 recoveries from covid-19 in the Beehive State per Friday’s report. This is an increase of 507 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 26 in the same span. There are currently 8,618 more all-time cases in Utah than recoveries. This caused the differential to shrink by 20 in the past 24 hours.

The current recovery percentage in Utah is 82.29 percent. This is an increase from Thursday’s 82.03 recovery percentage.

There are currently 8,195 active cases in Utah. This represents a net decrease of 42 in the past 24 hours.

The current active case percentage in Utah is 16.9 percent. The differential between recovered and active cases in Utah increased to 31,672 Friday. This is an increase of 545 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 2,870 recorded hospitalizations in Utah for covid-19 since statistics began being kept. This is an increase of 17 in the past 24 hours.

The current hospitalizations decreased by 10 in Utah in the past 24 hours, checking in at 129.

This decreased the current covid-19 hospitalization percentage to 4.49 percent. Thursday, this number was at 4.87 percent.

Of the 129 current covid-19 hospitalizations, 58 are in ICU. This is a decrease of four in the past 24 hours.

However, the ICU covid-19 current hospitalization percentage increased to 44.96 percent. Thursday, this was at 44.6 percent.

This can be explained by virtue of the decrease in current hospitalizations exceeding the decrease in current covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU.

Presently, 64 percent of ICU in Utah is occupied.

The deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah increased by two in the past 24 hours to 383 deaths.

This decreased the death percentage for covid-19 in Utah to 0.790 percent Friday. Thursday, this number was at 0.794 percent.

The new cases of covid-19 in Wasatch County increased by five in the past 24 hours, to 609.

The hospitalizations (25) and deaths (4) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remained unchanged in the past 24 hours.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
