SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, covid-19 statistics were updated for Utah by the state department of health.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 45,090 recorded cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 338 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 24 cases in the same span.
581,209 Utahns have been tested. This is an increase of 2,660 Utahns in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 35,311 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 547 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 102 recoveries in the same span.
Presently, 78.32 percent of all covid-19 cases in Utah are recovered.
There are currently 9,428 active cases in Utah. This is a decrease of 210 in the past 24 hours. The current active case percentage in Utah is 20.9 percent.
There are 25,883 more recoveries than active cases in Utah. This is an increase of 757 in the past 24 hours.
There are 2,696 hospitalizations in Utah that have been recorded for covid-19 since statistics began being kept. This is an increase of 19 in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 200 hospitalizations in Utah for covid-19. This is an increase of 11 in the past 24 hours. Presently, 7.4 percent of all hospitalizations in the Beehive State for covid-19 are currently hospitalized. This is an increase from Tuesday’s 7.06 percent.
Of those 200, 79 are currently in ICU, or 39.5 percent. ICU is presently 65 percent occupied in Utah.
There are 351 deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah, an increase of two in the past 24 hours. The current Utah hospitalization percentage is 0.778 percent.
Wasatch County saw seven new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 583. Per information from Trudy Brereton, Wasatch County Health Department’s health education and media relations coordinator 84.3 percent (492-583) are currently recovered.
The hospitalizations (22) and deaths (4) remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
