Sunday covid-19 stats in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday, covid-19 statistics were updated for the Beehive State by the state department of health.

Since statistics began being kept, there have been 44,127 recorded cases of covid-19. This is an increase of 376 in the past 24 hours and represents no net decrease or increase in the same span. Symmetrically, there were 376 new recorded cases Saturday.

570,613 Utahns have been tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 4,258 Utahns tested in the past 24 hours..

This caused a slight increase in the positive test percentage as it rose to 7.73 percent from Saturday’s 7.72 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage increased to 8.83 percent Sunday. Saturday, this was at 5.18 percent.

There have been 33,914 recoveries from covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 799 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 55 in the same span.

Currently, 76.85 percent of all covid-19 cases in Utah are recovered.

There are presently 9,877 active cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State. This represents the first time since June 29 that there are less than 10,000 active cases in Utah.

The 9,877 active cases represent a net decrease of 424 in the past 24 hours. The current active case percentage in Utah is 22.38 percent.

There have been 2,620 hospitalizations recorded for covid-19 in the Beehive State since statistics began being kept. This represents an increase of 16 in the past 24 hours.

The current hospitalizations increased by one Sunday, to 196. This kept Saturday’s current hospitalization percentage of 7.48 percent intact.

There are currently 78 current covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU. This is also an increase of one in the past 24 hours. This caused the current covid-19 hospitalization percentage in ICU to increase to 39.79 percent. Saturday, this was at 39.48 percent. Presently, 63 percent of ICU is occupied in Utah.

The death total attributed to covid-19 in Utah increased by one to 336. This caused the death rate percentage in the Beehive State to drop to 0.761 Sunday. Saturday, this was at 0.765 percent.

Wasatch County saw five new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours. This increases the recorded covid-19 case total to 563. The hospitalizations (21) and deaths (4) remain unchanged in the past 24 hours. The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
