SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, covid-19 statistics were updated for the Beehive State by the Utah Department of Health.
Since statistics have been kept, there have been 30,478 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 448 cases in the past 24 hours but a net decrease of 98 in the same span.
Since Friday, there has been a -419 decrease in positive cases.
There are presently 18,111 recoveries from the virus in Utah. This is an increase of 383 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 42 recoveries in the same span.
Presently, 59.42 percent of covid-19 cases in Utah are recovered.
There are now 12,142 active cases in the Beehive State as of Tuesday’s statistics. There has been an increase of 55 active cases in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 65 active cases in the same span.
For the 14th consecutive day in Utah, new recoveries (383) exceeded active cases (55) in the past 24 hours.
There are presently 5,969 more recoveries than active cases in the Beehive State, or a net increase of 328 more recoveries in the past 24 hours.
Currently, 39.83 percent of covid-19 cases are active in Utah.
There have been 424,521 total tests for covid-19 in Utah since statistics began being kept. This is an increase of 6,186 in the past 24 hours.
This kept the overall positive test percentage stable in the past 24 hours as Tuesday’s percentage is 7.17 percent. The same was true Monday.
The 24-hour positive test percentage dropped to 7.24 percent Tuesday. Monday, this was at 10.34 percent.
Since statistics have been kept, there have been 1,888 total hospitalizations for covid-19 in the Beehive State.
This is a net increase of 38 in the past 24 hours.
Inversely, current hospitalizations dropped by 31 to 176 current hospitalizations as of Tuesday’s statistics.
The current hospitalization percentage is 9.32 percent, a tremendous drop from Monday’s 11.189 percent.
The ICU cases who are currently hospitalized dropped by six Tuesday to 80. However, the ICU percentage of covid-19 current hospitalizations increased to 45.45 percent because of the -31 in current overall hospitalizations in the past 24 hours.
There were 10 deaths in Utah attributed to covid-19 Tuesday. This raises the death total to 226 and caused the death percentage in the Beehive State to rise to 0.741. Monday, this was at 0.719 percent.
This death rate still leads the nation.
Wasatch County experienced two new cases for covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 464 cases. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remained unchanged from Monday’s totals.
The most recent Wasatch County death attributed to covid-19 occurred July 6.
