ISSAQUAH, Wash.-Per a Wednesday statement, Costco is requiring shoppers to wear a face mask effective May 4.

The Issaquah, Wash.-based wholesaler made this announcement on its Web site, stating the new requirement comes to protect everyone while at the store.

It requires a “mask or face covering” that covers the mouth and nose at all times while at COSTCO.

The requirement follows CDC guidelines and does not include children under the age of 2 or individuals unable to wear a mask or face covering because of medical conditions.

This update comes as Costco has also limited the number of shoppers allowed inside the store and has closed the seating area of their food court.
