MAGNA, Utah-The Unified Fire Authority has moved its crews out of Magna Station 102 because of seismic concerns at the site.
These fire crews have since been relocated to a fire station that they will share with other crews, located at 8215 W. 3500 South in Magna.
Following the 5.7-earthquake that struck the Salt Lake Valley March 18, the Magna facilities they have moved out of, located at 8609 W. Main Street, were inspected.
Several fire stations had suffered sustained damages but were still deemed safe to continue operations.
Following the March 18 earthquake, UFA stations have been inspected following each subsequent aftershock.
On the heels of Thursday’s 4.2 aftershock, UFA Chief Dan Peterson made the call to consolidate operations in Magna.
