NEW YORK-Tuesday, Major League Soccer released a statement concerning when they can possibly return to play amid the COVID-19 virus.

The statement says that while they hoped they could return to action mid-May, this seems unlikely because of the guidance of federal and local public health authorities.

MLS says their goal remains to play as many games as possible. While they currently have enough dates to play the entire season, they recognize this is becoming increasingly difficult.

MLS said they continue to learn more from the experts daily and they expect more details to become more forthcoming.
