Crash Occurs In Cache County Because Of a Loose Horse

CACHE COUNTY, Utah-Monday at 1:34 pm, the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed an accident occurred in Cache County, caused in part by a horse running loose.

This occurred on southbound U.S. Highway 91 at milepost 36 at 7:30 am.

UHP authorities confirmed two horses were loose on U.S. 91 one mile north of Smithfield.

A young man was driving southbound to his first day of work at a new job, authorities stated.

He struck one of the horses broadside and was uninjured.

The horse was wounded and eventually put down by the owner’s brother. He was removed from the roadway with assistance from a farmer and his tractor.

The other horse continued to run around in traffic before being successfully corralled by local residents.
