Three Face 27 Felonies After Misadventures in Santaquin

SANTAQUIN, Utah-Per a report released Wednesday by the Utah Highway Patrol, three men are in custody after a routine traffic stop turned into a high-speed chase on Interstate 15 after finally ending with a foot pursuit through several Santaquin backyards.

The three men, 23-year-old Antonio Jamont Fenn, 23-year-old Doron Dorion Burt and 23-year-old Damonte Rayquan Husban are facing 29 charges apiece. Of these, 27 are felonies.

At 5:13 pm last Saturday, a Utah Highway Patrol trooper headed southbound on Interstate 15 south of Nephi spotted a car going 100 mph headed northbound.

As the trooper pursued them, the car sped up to 130 miles per hour.

The chase continued into the Santaquin area as the car weaved through traffic and even passed other vehicles on the shoulder of the road.

They exited I-15 in Santaquin and went into a residential neighborhood.

A Santaquin police officer spotted the vehicle and noticed three men walking away down the road.

As the officer flipped his car around, they began running through several backyards in a neighborhood before finally being apprehended by authorities.

Their vehicle was taken to the Juab County Jail in Nephi. After police obtained a search warrant, they discovered marijuana, a magnetic card scanner and 24 gift cards.

Fenn, Burt and Husban refused to talk during questioning and authorities say all of them have a criminal past, including forgery to the other charges.
