COLUMBUS, Ohio-Friday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the closure of its temple at Columbus, Ohio for extensive renovation.
The Columbus Temple will close for refurbishment August 15, 2020.
It is expected to reopen in 2022.
As soon as it is safe to attend temples again, the Salt Lake City-based faith encourages members in the area to attend the Indianapolis Indiana or Detroit Michigan temples.
This temple was dedicated by then-Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints president Gordon B. Hinckley on September 4, 1999.
