KTMP Station Manager Dan Jessop is meeting with each candidate running for Heber City Council. This morning, October 21 Rachel Kahler had her five minutes on air:
I am a Wasatch High School alumni and University of Utah graduate with a degree in Public Relations and Communications. I am married to Chad Kahler, who works as a hydrologist for the National Weather Service and we are raising three outstanding children. I have lifelong connections to members in the community that represent Wasatch County, Midway, Heber City and the Wasatch School District.
Since 2011 I have had the opportunity to serve this community in many aspects, including working with the Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce, working as a volunteer for the Heber Valley Western Music & Cowboy Poetry Gathering, a rodeo committee member for the Mountain Valley Stampede Rodeo, an event volunteer for the Relay for Life, Director of Events for the Tour of Utah professional bicycle race, a committee member for the Wasatch County School 2018 Boundary Review, a Wasatch School District Community Council member for JR Smith Elementary, Timpanogos Middle School and Wasatch High School and a Steering Committee member of the Heber Envision 2050 project.
I am running for Heber City Council because I believe in our future and in this community and have a deep love for the Heber Valley and the people who live here. I care about the issues impacting our community, including growth, transportation and annexation.
